What sets Buck Creek Hops apart from other hops?

With our state-of-the-art processing facility we are able to take our hops from the field and have them pelletized and in the freezer within 24 hours. This allows for minimal quality loss. We know of no other producer that can boast this.

What’s the current market like for hops?

The beer industry is currently experiencing a shortage of hops. Consumers are demanding more craft beer and hop-forward beer, and demand has surpassed supply in the United States. Not only is there a shortage in the U.S., there are also very few hop farms in the Midwest. The demand for locally-produced, high-quality Iowa hops is high.

Is growing hops more difficult than farming corn or soybeans?

Yes, growing hops is much more labor intensive and generally requires more attention than growing row crops.

Who will purchase my hops?

You can either sell your hops to us, or have us process your hops and sell them on your own. We recommend selling the hops to us as we have strong marketing and a name that is established around Iowa and the Midwest.
